Weston, a Civil Parish and Village in the District of North Hertfordshire in the English County of Hertfordshire
The village of Weston in the North Hertfordshire district of the English county of Hertfordshire is also a civil parish. The village is included as a post town of Hitchin, is 2.5 miles south-east of Letchworth, the same distance south of Baldock and 4 miles north of Stevenage.
The village’s claim to fame is their home grown Robin Hood, Jack o’Legs. According to the legend, Jack o’Legs was an archer and an exceptionally tall guy who robbed the rich and gave it to the poor. He lived in a cave somewhere in the Weston Hills where he hid the loot he took from the shops in the neighbouring town of Baldock. When he got caught by the shopkeepers of Baldock they blinded him but gave him one last wish. Jack O’Legs asked to be pointed towards this village so he can shoot his arrow in the direction of the place where he wanted to be buried. The arrow fell in the churchyard of the Holy Trinity Church where he now lies buried.
The plague of 1348 hit the village real bad that they had to pull down and burn the buildings to prevent the plague from spreading. A new village flourished around what is presently the Fore Street.

There is not much in this village when it comes to shopping, place to eat or place to stay. Residents and visitors will need to go to Stevenage and enjoy the amenities of this town.
Things to See and Do in Weston
One thing that survived in Weston is a traditional windmill that needs to be repaired and restored. A place of interest is the burial ground of Jack O’Legs on the grounds of the Holy Trinity Church.
