Biggleswade, a Civil Parish and Market Town on the River Ivel in the English County of Bedfordshire
The market town and civil parish of Biggleswade is in Bedfordshire County, England. It is located on the River Ivel approximately 20 miles to the west-south-west of Cambridge and 40 miles north of Central London. The civil parish includes the nearby hamlet of Holme.
In the past decade, the town’s population increased by almost 10% due mainly to its having a railway station and a good road link to London and the North. This market town is only half an hour by train to the capital city. It is located just off the “Great North Road,” commonly called the A1 which runs between London and Edinburgh, while the B1040 which runs through the town leads to Potton.
