About five miles west of the city center of Kingston upon Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire lies the town, civil parish and electoral ward of Hessle. It sits on the bank of the Humber Estuary where the Humber Bridge crosses, and it is geographically part of the larger urban area of the city of Kingston upon Hull.
