Approximately fourteen miles west of the city center of Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire lies the village and civil parish of South Cave. This village is situated on the A1034 Road and located about two miles southeast of the village and parish of North Cave. This parish is formed by the village itself, the hamlet of Drewton and a part of the hamlet of Riplingham. It also lies within the Haltemprice and Howden Parliamentary constituency. The “cave” in its name derives from “the fast flowing one,” where it means “stream” in Old English.
