Located north of Sidcup and east of Eltham, in the London Borough of Bexley sits the largely residential area of Blackfen. Named after the word "Blackfen" which means a black, marshy area. The larger shopping centre in the area lacks greenery or architectural finesse but includes a large food store with free parking space next to a prominent flyover that carries the modern A2 Trunk Road.
At the junction of the Main Road and Westwood Lane, is the area’s most popular pub called “The Woodman” serving excellent beers and home cooked food, it is an iconic watering hole in the area. Another famous pub in the area is “The Feynman”, showcasing its in-house brewery, it serves some of the finest beers in in the area. Along the main shopping street and The Oval is a good range of restaurants, coffee shops and various eateries serving delectable meals and refreshing drinks.
