The Residential District of Rotherhithe in the London Borough of Southwark
Rotherhithe is a residential district in south-east London. Located within the London Borough of Southwark, this area was historically the most northeastern settlement in the beautiful leafy county of Surrey. Sitting on a peninsula on the south bank of the Thames, this district faces Wapping and Isle of Dogs on the north bank and a part of the London Docklands area. As a destination that has a long history as a port, it features plenty of beautiful riverside views and a gorgeous freshwater dock. Home to Greenland Dock, the oldest surviving dock on the south bank, Rotherhithe managed to retain its rich maritime heritage and most of its character, making it an interesting destination that tourists will enjoy exploring.

Rotherhithe is home to the King’s Stairs Gardens, a small park on the river near the boundary of Bermondsey. Featuring a beautiful landscape perfect some outdoor activities, it’s a good spot to spend a lovely afternoon. The old Town Hall which is now a library and museum that emulates the history and heritage of the district is also great spot worth checking out.
