Grays, the Largest Town in the Unitary Authority and Borough of Thurrock in the English County of Essex
Grays also called Grays Thurrock is a large town. It is part of the unitary authority and borough of Thurrock in Essex County, England and is one of the traditional parishes of Thurrock. The town is located on the north bank of the River Thames and is 2 miles east of the M25 motorway and 20 miles to the east of London. It is bounded west and north by Stifford and east by Little Thurrock.
This large town used to be a small port with brewery, brickworks and chalk quarries. These businesses dwindled after the First World War but have been supplanted by packaging plastic and light engineering.

For the nature lovers, the Essex Wildlife Trust Chafford Gorges Nature Park is the best attraction of the town as well as the Beach. For the thrill and adventure seekers, there are adventure activities that they could indulge in such as scuba and snorkelling, rock climbing at the Lakeside Watersports and more. A place of special interest is the Essex Fire Museum with demonstrations of the hose drill and cherry picker.
