Exploring the Beautiful Area of Wythenshawe in the City of Manchester in Greater Manchester
Wythenshawe an area of south Manchester that was historically part of Cheshire. This beautiful area was transferred to City of Manchester, which has begun building a massive housing estate in the 1920s. Covering an area of around eleven square miles, it was at one time the largest council housing estate in Europe. This area covers nine area namely; Baguley, Benchill, Peel Hall, Newall Green, Woodhouse Park, Moss Nook, Northern Moor, Northenden, and Sharston. Offering plenty of beautiful parks, several amenities and just a few minutes from the city of Manchester, this is a great place for breaks and family holidays.
The Civic Centre is the main retail area in this area. The Forum Centre houses a library, leisure center, swimming pool, cafe and other amenities, has also been renovated in a more modern style. Today, this area also has an Asda and Wilko. It also has a lot of independent shops and other retail outlets to present its visitors a good retail therapy.
From this beautiful area, tourists will have a lot of choices when it comes to places to eat. Try visiting the Alexandros Greek Restaurant, which is only 1.7 km away from the area. Or check out the Asian cuisines served at Mi and Pho. Another excellent place to visit is the Bar San Juan, serving an excellent range of Spanish and Mediterranean dishes, it is a great place to dine while you’re in the area.

This area is home to twelve parks and eighteen woodlands where people can enjoy the great outdoors. Wythenshawe Park is a Local Nature Reserve that covers over 270 acres green space and is home to Manchester's only community farm, Wythenshawe community farm. Ideal for plenty of activities and outdoor recreations, it’s a great place to check out. Other parks in the area include Painswick Park, Northenden's Riverside Park, Hollyhedge Park and more.
