Thame, a Traditional Market Town and Civil Parish in Oxfordshire, England
Thame is a civil parish and a market town in Oxfordshire County, England. It got its name from the River Thame flowing along the north side of town. The hamlet of Moreton is included in the parish. As per records, it was Wulfhere, the King of the Mercians who founded the town and for centuries managed by the church. Ownership transferred from bishop to bishop but the real power rested in the hands of the farmers.

The marketplace plays host to the town’s annual country show which is considered England’s greatest. The upper High Street looks like an open-air deli every Tuesday. Things to do in this town besides discovering the town’s history at the Museum is to follow the northern trail of the self-guided Midsomer Murder Trail or take a leisurely walk or cycle along the Phoenix Trail. Discovering the wonders of the rich diversity of wildlife in the Cuttle Brook Nature Reserve is also worth trying.
