Lying on the west bank of the River Don, in the metropolitan borough, Rotherham is the suburban town of Swinton. It is located five miles north-northeast of the large town of Rotherham and directly west-southwest of the town of Mexborough. Best known for its pottery, this suburban town features plenty of plenty of breathtaking views, stunning scenery and beautiful open spaces perfect for outdoor recreations and fun-filled activities. With plenty of facilities and amenities to take good care of both the locals and its visitors, this town is a great place for romantic getaways and pleasant holidays.
Swinton is a suburban town that only houses a range of independent shops, local businesses and shopping facilities that can only handle the local demands of the town. It is not a good or ideal place to visit if you are looking for a good retail therapy. However, this town is just a few miles away from the large town of Rotherham which can provide a much better shopping experience because of it has more shopping facilities to offer.
Although the shopping in this town is that good, it makes up for it with its excellent range of places to eat. Park View is a pub that is considered the best when it comes serving traditional English dishes like shepherd's pie and fish ‘n’ chips. While Potteries Tea Rooms is the place, you have to visit if you want to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea. Another excellent place in town is the King's Head where you can enjoy good food and an excellent variety of beers.

Swinton is home to the Former kiln of Rockingham Pottery which is one of the town’s famous landmark and top attractions to visit. It’s also home to the St. Margaret's Church which features a very beautiful architecture. With plenty of beautiful views and just a few miles from the town of Rotherham, this town is a wonderful place to visit during the holidays.
