Slough is a large town in Berkshire County, England. In the 19th and 20th Centuries, the town evolved along the Great West Road from several villages mostly in Buckinghamshire. The growth was sped up by the advent of the Great Western Railway and later, by the establishment of the Slough Trading Estate, the largest single private ownership industrial estate in Europe. This development has made the town an important industrial and commercial centre in the area. There are many national and international companies such as Mars Incorporated, Blackberry, O2, Polycom and McAfee among others, establishing headquarters and offices here.
