Bletchley, a Constituent Town of Milton Keynes in the English County of Buckinghamshire
Bletchley is a town within the larger town of Milton Keynes in the English County of Buckinghamshire. It sits in the south-west of Milton Keynes and is shared by the civil parishes of West of the town and Bletchley and Fenny Stratford.
Central Bletchley has the West Coast Main Line as its border to the West, and Water Eaton Road and Water Eaton Brook to the south. To the east is Leon Recreational Centre/Knowles School and to the north Leisure Centre and North Street. In 2006, there were sizeable commercial constructions made in the outlying areas of the town while still in the civil parish of Fenny Stratford and this town. Asda Wal-Mart and IKEA, a supermarket chain and Swedish furniture retailer respectively, operated large stores on Watling Street in Denbigh North. Tesco matched this by enlarging its Fenny Stratford shop also on Watling Street.
Included in the area that was developed is the new Stadium UK for Milton Keynes Dons Football Club. Some fans who are not from this town usually arrive via the Railway Station, and this brought more business to the town. At the same time, many fans use intercity services to Milton Keynes Central and ride the bus to the stadium. For a long time, Denbigh has been a significant area of employment, and maybe its most important tenant is Marshall Amplification.
Food, Shopping and Accommodation in Bletchley
In 1967, when Milton Keynes, dubbed as the New City, was founded, this town was added as a “designated area”. Since the town was the main shopping area of the Milton Keynes, it flourished during the early years of Milton. When the new Central Milton Keynes Shopping Centre was opened, there was a downturn in the commercial activity of the town and its reputation as a retail destination in this part of the world has significantly diminished.
Things to See and Do in Bletchley
This town is famous for its Prominent Park, a heritage tourist attraction that once was the command post of Britain’s World War II Codebreakers.
