Food, Shopping and Accommodation in Ford
There is a 16th Century pub in this hamlet named after “The Dinton Hermit” but has been closed since 2013. The Dinton Hermit is John Bigg, who was the executioner of the king. It is said that for the last forty-five years of his life he lived in a cave. The pub used to be an old coaching inn on the main route between Thame and Aylesbury. The inn was converted into a hotel. It used to be made mostly of a local material called witchery or wychert. Residents and visitors have to go to Princes Risborough, Waddesdon, High Wycombe or Aylesbury in search for more choices of restaurants and pubs as well as for a place to stay.
