Things to See and Do
One important building in the village is the Heatherden Hall located in Iver Heath. It is a Victorian estate with fabulous grounds. A Canadian financier, Lt. Col. Grant Morden, bought the property and added a Turkish bath and a huge ballroom to the mansion. In the 1930s, the estate became a refuge and private meeting place for diplomats and politicians. In fact, Heatherden Hall was the venue for the signing of the agreement to create an Irish Free State. Another building of note is the Church of St Margaret which was built in 1862. The Heath is located at the centre of a triangle of roads. On the Slough Road to the south is the village post office, whereas, an array of shops was once found along Church Road to the north.
