The Village, Civil Parish and Electoral Ward of Gosforth in Cumbria’s Borough of Copeland
On the A595 Road, between the towns of Barrow-in-Furness and Whitehaven in the borough of Copeland, lies the village and civil parish of Goforth. It is an electoral ward that lies within the county’s Lake District which was historically under the historic county of Cumberland. This village is situated close to Wastwater, England’s deepest lake, and it's just a few kilometers away from the village and beach of Seascale. This village has a rich and colorful Viking heritage, and it is home to the Gosforth Cross, the oldest and tallest Viking Cross in the country.

As the country’s oldest and tallest Viking cross, it is a place that is worth a visit.
