The English Market Town and Civil Parish of Egremont in the Borough of Copeland of Cumbria
Sitting on the bank of the River Ehen, approximately five miles south of Whitehaven in the Copeland borough is the market town of Egremont. Nestled at the foot of the Uldale Valley and Dent Fell, this town was historically part of Cumberland. This town also has a long history and rich heritage in dyeing, weaving, and iron ore mining. It features a similar town layout as at the time of Richard de Lucy around 1200, where its wide Main Street opens out into its market place.
