Chigwell, a Town and Civil Parish in the District of Epping Forest of the English County of Essex
The town of Chigwell in the Epping Forest District of the English County of Essex is also a civil parish and a remote suburb of London situated 12 miles north-east of Charing Cross. Together with Buckhurst Hill and Loughton, these three towns form what is called as the “golden triangle” of Essex.
The town is considered a prosperous city with large suburban houses especially along Hainault Road, Manor Road and High Road. Originally the town was a rural farming area that has evolved into a wealthy suburban town. But, in spite of its easy access to central London, this town has retained its rural flavour especially in the forested area of Chigwell Row, east of the town and close to Lambourne.
