Sandhurst, a Village of the County of Gloucestershire, England
Sandhurst is a village in the county of Gloucestershire, England just outside the city of Gloucester. The closest neighbour is the Parish of Maisemore. River Severn serves as the border between the two areas. There are only two roads out of this village, one going to Tewkesbury, and another going to Gloucester. It makes the village and ideal bypass for motorists who are avoiding traffic along A38. The Severn Way is a long-distance footpath which follows the course of the river Severn on the eastern side of the village.

Things to See and do in Sandhurst
One of the most interesting places in this village is the Abloads Court which means the “Abbots Lode Court” the history of this property site could be traced back to the 13th Century. From the 15th to the 17 Century, this site, together with a large part of what is now the actual village was called the hamlet of Ablodes.
The village church is named St Lawrence Sandhurst since it is dedicated to St Lawrence. It used to belong to the St Oswald Priory in Gloucester. The existing building is in part 14 the Century but was largely rebuilt in 1858. Opposite the church is the Village Hall.
Another impressive structure in this village is the Mussel End Farm. It is a traditional 17th Century farmhouse converted into a charming B&B set in an extensive well-maintained garden. It is .surrounded by arable lands which provide fresh produce for the kitchen.
