Gislingham, a Village Located Around the Area of Diss, Eye and Stowmarket in the Northern Part of Suffolk County, England
The village of Gislingham is located in the north of the English county of Suffolk. The village which was once part of Norfolk is located around the area of Diss, Eye and Stowmarket and is as old as the 9th Century.
At the time of the Domesday Book in 1086, the village has already been well established. The Knights Templar were prominent in the area from 1150 to 1312. The village church is the St Mary the Virgin Church. The present structure was built as a replacement for a medieval tower during the time of the Reformation but the oldest parts of the church date back from the 1420s.

Things to See and Do in Gislingham
While visiting this area, a visit to some of the local attractions nearby will make the visit complete. Nearby is the Bressingham Steam Experience with four railways to explore plus a collection of vintage locomotives to marvel at. There is also the Mid Suffolk Light Railway, the only railway museum in Suffolk that recreates the Mid Suffolk Light Railway. Gape at the original station buildings and the display of steam locomotives together with memorabilia and photographs in the museum. The Museum of East Anglian Life in Stowmarket a few miles away from Gislingham is also worth visiting as well as the Banham Zoo in Banham and the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary in Stonham Aspal.
