The village of Middleton is in the Suffolk Coastal district east of the English county of Suffolk. It is about 3 miles north-west of Leiston, famous for its Garret agricultural engineering past. It is also 3 miles inland from the Suffolk North Sea coast and 5 miles north-east of the traditional market town of Saxmundham. It is approximately 2 miles east of Yoxford on the B1122.

Middleton is included in the highly acclaimed Heritage Coastal area. It sits on the River Badingham and is entirely agricultural. Local attractions in the village include the prestigious Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) Minsmere and the internationally acknowledged Snape Maltings concert hall. Close at hand is the old Roman port of Dunwich which has mainly disappeared at sea. The fashionable resorts of Walberswick and Southwold to the north and Aldeburgh to the south along its wide shingle beach fronting the North Sea are also nearby.
The village is centred around the parish church dedicated to the Holy Trinity. It is a recently restored old building with a towering spire and thatched roof. It has a pub owned by Adnams Brewery called the Bell Inn, a village hall and a primary school.
