Weston-Under-Wetherley, Called by Locals as Simply Weston, is a Civil Parish and Village in the English County of Warwickshire
The civil parish and village of Weston-Under-Wetherley or just Weston to the locals is in the Warwickshire County of England. The closest town to this village is Royal Leamington Spa at 3 miles north-east of Weston on the B4453 road. The parish church of St Michael is the most striking building in this village.
The Parish of Weston-under-Wetherley is on the right side of the River Leam, 3.5 miles north-east of Leamington Spa. The northern section of the parish continues over the water basin into the Avon valley and is covered in part by Waverley Wood, which continues into Stoneleigh. The village, made mostly of red brick and timber -framed cottages spread along the Leamington-Rugby road for more than half a mile.
What makes the village unique among the other English settlements or villages of Weston’s size is the absence of even a single shop or pub in the area. The last store was demolished in 1990 while the last pub was closed in 2014. The Weston Hospital which has served people in and around the village was also closed in the 1990s. Instead, modern houses, a village hall and a children’s play area now occupy the site of the hospital.
